Day 4 & 5 in Naples

March 12, 2014

After a stormy day on Thursday we were happy to wake up to sun on Friday!

My Mom and I were up early for a spa appointment to get our nails done, while the boys had breakfast.

Grey Sky

After our pedicures we met the boys down by the pool, and some clouds had rolled in.

It was chilly, and we even got a few drops of rain.

Blue Sky

But hardly 10 minutes later all the clouds had cleared and the sky was perfectly blue!

Much better.

Trouble in Naples

My best Floridian friend, ‘Trouble in Naples’.

According to the hotel, the storm had caused some damage to the cabanas and we were not allowed to use them, for safety reasons. My engineer Mom took a quick look around and decided the cabana was structurally sound, and our fair bodies would be safe in the shade. Thank goodness!

Lava Cake

After a full day of nothing we went back to the hotel to get ready for dinner.

Our first dinner at Brio on Tuesday night was so good that we decided to go back.

I just couldn’t resist the Lava Cake!!

Peanut Butter

Instead of the Chocolate Sunday in a cup, this time we got the Peanut Butter Sundae.

It wasn’t as good as the Chocolate, and paled in comparison to the Lava Cake!

During dinner the clouds came back, and we all crossed our fingers that the next day, our last day in Naples, would be sunny!

The next morning was a little chilly, but at least it was sunny.

Sam’s pancakes looked so delicious on Thursday that I decided to get my own this time. Chocolate Chip Banana, yum!

French Toast

Sam ended up getting the Brioche French Toast, and it was also real good!

Not a bad final day by the pool!

Our flight wasn’t until 8pm on Saturday, so we had a full day to enjoy by the pool.

Orange Creamsicle

My Mom was really craving some sort of Creamsicle drink, and she convinced the bar to make one for her. Orange Syrup, Vanilla Ice Cream and Whipped Cream Vodka – definitely a Creamsicle, definitely delicious!!

Miami Vice

While Mom enjoyed her Creamsicle, I enjoyed my ‘Miami Vice’ – half Daiquiri, half Piña Colada.

I sure was getting my servings of fruit on this trip!!

Haagen Dazs

Sadly, it eventually came time to pack up all our stuff up and head to the airport. Not before stopping by the Häagen Dazs ice cream shop, of course. This beautiful thing was layers of Chocolate Ice Cream, Cookies, Whipped Cream and Hot Fudge Sauce. It was crazy good!!

Coming home wasn’t so bad, my beautiful birthday flowers held up pretty well while I was gone! Not quite as colourful as the day I got them, but still impressive.

Overall it was a pretty awesome birthday week in Naples 🙂
