Jesse & Andy’s Wedding

November 25, 2013

Day 4 we woke up to a bright blue sky and the weather couldn’t have been better!

Bridge

We decided to drive to Berkeley to go to Bette’s Oceanview Diner for Soufflé Pancakes!

Old Bay Bridge

Cobi and I went to Bette’s last time we were in San Fran after seeing it on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, and we really wanted to go back!

Old and New Bridges

Luckily everyone seemed into the idea so we got up early, hopped in the car and off we went.

Bette's Oceanview Diner

We got there early enough that there wasn’t much of a wait which was nice, though we did have to split up and sit at 2 tables of 4.

Giant Pie

Just like I remember it!

Giant Pancake

I’m pretty sure we were sitting at the exact same table last time!

Chocolate Soufflé Pancake

Last time I got a Chocolate Strawberry Soufflé Pancake, this time I went with just Chocolate.

Soufflé Pancake

They were just as awesome as I remember! So thick, so fluffy, so delicious. Cobi got Fried Chicken and Waffles which were also really good.

Decorations

They may not get snow in San Francisco, but they make up for it with pretty icicle lights!

Golden Gate Bridge

We drove home across the Golden Gate Bridge and the car was very quiet as we all tried to digest our breakfast and prepare for the afternoon’s festivities.

When we got home Tully and I got started on Andy, doing her makeup then curling her hair. While she got dressed Tully and I quickly got ourselves ready, then we all piled in the Party Bus and drove to Golden Gate Park where we met up with the Officiant and the Photographer.

Waterfall

We parked the Bus and walked to the waterfall where the ceremony was going to take place.

Wedding Waterfall

It was so pretty! The perfect place for a wedding 🙂

Ring Boxes

Jesse added a special touch to the ring boxes to make them more special.

Rings

Cobi was in charge of holding the rings and you could tell he was nervous as we were standing over water! Dropping the rings would not result in a good situation…

Don't Fall In

Andy and Jesse had to check their surroundings to make sure they didn’t fall in.

Ceremony

The ceremony was short but very sweet. The Bride and Groom wrote their own vows and they were lovely.

First Kiss

First kiss as a married couple!

Married!

Sweeter than anything we’ve had to eat so far.

Witnessing

Cobi and Tully were wonderful witnesses, and didn’t even plan to match!

Best Man

The very Best Man.

Smooch

Picture time!

Love

The park made the perfect backdrop for photos.

Nature Love

If you look closely you’ll see that Jesse’s bow tie matches Andy’s dress!

J&A

There were joggers, families going for walks and lots of squirrels, but we managed to get some really beautiful photos. The photographer was really good at using Andy and Jesse’s heads to block people in the background!

Open Your Eyes!

Neither brother is capable of opening their eyes in photos.

Brothers

Well, at least their eyes are open in this one…

Pink Accessories

The man loves his pink accessories.

Cosi

Whereas I seem to stick to black.

Funny Faces

While Jesse and Andy were taking their romantic photos, Cobi and I took romantic photos of our own.

Funny Faces

Aren’t we lovely.

Cobs&Cos

50% of us are normal.

C&C

There we go!

Jesse and Andy

Enough of us, back to the Bride and Groom.

Andy and Jesse

They are so cute. You can see here that Jesse’s bow tie matches Andy’s dress.

Jesse made the boutonniere, and Andy made her shawl! Aren’t they just the craftiest.

Yay!

“Hooray for marriage!”

Actually, I think Jesse was excited that Andy’s lipstick had come off on his lips.

Andy and Tully

Andy and Tully looking adorable.

I can’t wait to see the professional photos!

Silly FacesAfter the ceremony we drove back home and relaxed on the sofa for a bit before dinner. Cobi and I had fun with Burst Mode on the new iPhones. It is my new favourite way to take photos. Sometimes the best faces are the faces made between making faces!

Menu

We rented out a room at Ozumo, a Japanese restaurant in the Financial District. They put together a 10 course tasting menu for us, and every dish was amazing. I was even brave enough to eat the octopus, tentacles and all!

Cobi’s cousin Mary (who we stayed with last time we came here) and her daughter Rebecca joined us for dinner, as well as Cobi’s other cousin Niki.

Sake

Cobi got a flight of Sake and was nice enough to share it with me as I’ve never had Sake before.

It was like a strange mix between Vodka and Wine, I’m not sure how I felt about it. I did enjoy the champagne we toasted with!

Family Photo

I can’t say the food photographed very well (what with all the tentacles), but believe me when I say it was delicious. And the group definitely photographed well!

Cookie Box

Niki brought us treats from Anthony’s Cookies to enjoy after dinner!

Anthony's Cookies

There were Peanut Butter, Toffee, Double Chocolate and Whole Wheat Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, and they were all SO good.

Seriously, I love San Francisco treats.

We were all pretty tired after the day’s festivities, so we went to bed to get a good sleep before our last full day in SF!
