Last and First Day of Work Treats

August 10, 2013

As I mentioned in a previous post, I’ve recently accepted a new job. I was very excited for the new opportunity, but I was definitely sad to leave my Hailo boys! I decided I had to make a super tasty treat for my last day with them.

Enter Nutella.

Nutella Brownie Batter

I make brownies rather often because they’re easy and delicious, but I wanted to make these ones a little different. I took my favourite brownie batter and added a metric tonne of Nutella. Mmmm.

Chocolate Chip Layer

To make it even more decadent I added Chocolate Chips to the batter and sprinkled some on top before baking.

Chocolate Chip Nutella Brownies

So chocolatey. So delicious.

Maybe I made these to show the boys how much they mean to me and how much I’m going to miss them.
Maybe I made these to remind them how much they’re going to miss me.

We’ll never really know.

I had a lovely long weekend between my last and first days, to rest up and hang out with friends. By the end of the weekend I was rarin’ to go!

My first week at Saatchi was fun and full of lots to learn. Once I’d gotten a little more settled I decided it was time to start bribing people to be my friends.

It was time to bake.

I went with a tried and true recipe, one I know is a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

Chocolate Chip Oreo Batter

Half the final batter was actual Cookie Dough, the other half was Oreos and Chocolate Chips. That’s my kind of ratio.

Chocolate Chip Oreo Cookies

The cookies were a hit. I’ve made them time and time again, but I was still really happy that people seemed to like them!

I’m not above bribes for friendship. First I was the Weird New Girl, now I’m the Weird New Girl with cookies.

I’ll take it.

Maybe next week I’ll be the Weird New Girl with Chocolate Chip Caramel Cookie Bars
